"Alright class, your last concert was terrific!" Mrs. Bell, the choir teacher exclaimed as she got out our new song packets. "Okay, here's your new songs for this nine weeks. I'll go through them today, and you just listen."
As the packets came to me, I froze and stared at the title. 'Peace, Love, and Lots of Little Crickets.' it read.
Delany shoved me. "Juliette, what's wrong?" she asked.
I shook my head, "N-nothing..."
Delany cocked her head. "You sure, you seam a little..." she searched for the right words. "...off."
"Well, I have a fear of crickets... like a phobia..." I said almost in a whisper. I shoved the packets to Delany, eager to get them out of my trembling hands.
Isabella turned to me. "Juliette, are you okay?" I nodded slightly and closed my eyes, trying to think of something else to pounder my mind on. Like... why we drive on parkways, but we park on driveways. Yeah! That's a good topic! No seriously, why are they called that? I wonder if it has something to do with
"Alright class, let's begin
I figited my feet. "Well, what if you are deathly afriad of crickets?" I asked, my face completely serious.
"Why, are you?" she asked. No, I just asked just 'cause!
I nodded my head. "Y-yes..."
"Okay, just see how you do, and if you want to go to the hall, you can." I nodded my head, shoving my fingures to my ears with great force, ready to block out any of the sounds.
